Menay Edwards talks to BaylorIC Tv about his upcoming title fight
28 year old Menay Edwards goes under the monikor of “The Emperor” and has won 10 from 12 bouts.
Menay won his first four bouts before being pitched into the Prizefighter Light-Heavyweight competition in January 2011. He defeated Joe Smyth in the quarter final before losing a sem-final war against Tony Dodson where Menay was stopped in the third round.
After this three more wins followed before a clash in September 2012 with the current WBO International Champion Neil Dawson. Both boxers were down in the fight and Menay lost a close points decision.
January 2013 came and Menay decided to pen a long term deal with Steve Goodwin. On his first bout under the Goodwin banner Menay won every round against former British Champion Shane McPhilbin recording a shut out 60-54 win.
Menay then defeAted higly regarded impOrt Arturs Kulikauskis who had previously defeated former British Champion Leon Williams.
Menay now takes part in his first title fight on 29th June when he takes on JJ Ojuederie for the Southern Area Cruiserweight title.
